Conservation of Fynbos

Flower Valley's local markets

bouquetIt comes as no surprise that fynbos bouquets are sought after for their sensational display of colour and lively textures.  The bouquets present a glimpse of the unique Cape Floral Kingdom, the smallest plant kingdom in the world, with two thirds of the species found only in the Cape and nowhere else on Earth.

Pride in our local heritage is prompting South Africans to demand fynbos for celebrations and events.  Fynbos is no longer considered as the floral stepsister.  Today fynbos is found in the foyers of the trendiest hotels and restaurants.

packshedA Pick n Pay grant of R3,3m in 2006 was subject to fynbos bouquets being supplied to Pick n Pay retail stores.  Partnering with longstanding floral agent Dipalesa, bouquets have been supplied through Fynsa, Flower Valley’s commercial partner, to Pick n Pay’s corporate stores in the Western Cape since March 2009.  The current supply of some 500 bouquets a week is set to be increased, while the distribution range will be expanded.
