Conservation of Fynbos

Flower Valley's international markets

fynbos labelThe splendour of Cape flora is no secret and increased foreign demand drives the distribution of fynbos to international retail chains.  Flower Valley’s commercial partner, Fynsa, has been supplying Marks & Spencer in the United Kingdom since 2004 with fynbos bouquets.  What started off as a Cape Flora bouquet at one price point of £6.99, has developed over 5 years to a range with five price points including an on-line ordering system that is hugely successful.  The demand is growing and for Mothers’ Day 2009, Fynsa supplied a record 30 000 fynbos bunches to the UK market.

Marks & Spencer was the first retailer to acknowledge the sustainably harvested fynbos by attaching a unique label with a picture of Flower Valley farm and the Flower Valley story.

An image of artfully decorated Cape flora welcomes guests on arrival at Cape Town International Airport.  This remembrance serves as a trigger for travellers to buy fynbos on their return to their home countries.
