HOLD A HAND

HOLD A CHILD’S HAND AT THE DOLFYNTIES ECD CENTRE: NURTURING YOUNG CHILDREN…

Life’s early years lay the foundations for health, happiness and optimal growth.

We know how important it is for young children to grow up in an environment that supports:

  1. Optimum Health
  2. Nutrition
  3. Responsive Care
  4. Safety and Security
  5. Learning Stimulation

Every child has the right to an environment of nurturing care.

The purpose the Flower Valley ECD programme is to increase access to good quality Early Childhood Development. We are active in both Home and Centre based ECD supporting the application of these five elements that make up an enabling environment for young children.

One the Centres that we support – Dolfyntjies ECD Centre, is located in Eluxolweni, Pearly Beach. This neighbourhood is experiencing the effects of migration, unemployment, crime, lack of local economy and substance abuse. It is here where more than 100 children between 0 and 5 years are growing up.

Children growing up in these sorts of environments have a great risk of decreasing their life potential and therefore require ECD Centres to act as a buffer, supporting children to grow in a way that allows for optimum nurturing care.

The Dolfyntjies ECD Centre presently caters for 18 children between the ages of 3 – 5 years old.

We hereby ask you hold a child’s hand and contribute to the costs of delivering this Centre based support. These funds will go directly to the Dolfyntjies ECD Centre and the 18 children who attend it.

Please join us in holding a child’s hand, by contributing a once off amount of R5500 per child, thereby supporting that child’s place at Dolfyntjies for 2018.

Thank you for holding a child’s hand and changing a life.
